Frequently Asked Questions

Who is chiropractic care for?

We absolutely believe that everyone will benefit from choosing chiropractic care as a critical part of their healthcare and drastically improve their quality of life over time. Whether you have countless health concerns that you’re battling, looking to optimize your wellness, have already had spinal surgery, or are pregnant and searching for perinatal care providers who really care about your birth outcomes, we are here for you. Regardless of any other decisions you make, the chiropractic approach will improve your inherent ability to function optimally.

What is a neurologically based chiropractor?

As a neurologically-based chiropractic office, our #1 goal is to improve the health and function of the nervous system- your brain, spinal cord, and network of nerves that travel to every cell, tissue and organ in your body. On your first visit, we assess how the nervous system is functioning and gather objective data to measure throughout your care. During your regular adjustment visits, our chiropractors will assess how the nervous system responds to various stimulus throughout the spine. Our chiropractors will adjust the areas of the spine that respond well to this pressure/stimulus check. We do not “play xylophone with your spine,” but rather are very specific, gentle and focused in what your body needs.

Do you accept health insurance?

Yes. We are in network with all major insurance companies, including but not limited to:

  • Health Partners

  • Cigna

  • Medica

  • United Healthcare

  • Blue Cross Blue Shield

  • UCare

  • Preferred One

  • America’s PPO

  • and more!

We do need to acknowledge that by being in-network with your health insurance company requires us to follow their guidelines for medical necessity and each company has boundaries to what visits may be billed to insurance. If you do not have insurance coverage, we want you to know that we have affordable rates and a variety of payment options. Even without insurance coverage, our wellness fees are comparable to any insurance rates you would find. Finally, we will always review the cost of any service with your beforehand so that you can always know what to expect and do not have any surprise bills showing up in the mail. We are very transparent and honest with fees and payments and will work with you to make sure your can receive the care you need and want. Please give our office a call if you have any additional questions.

How many visits will I need?

Each person is unique so our chiropractic team will first review your health history, current state of health, chiropractic evaluation findings and goals, before making a recommendation of visits. Typically, new patients with active health concerns will begin with visits 1-3 times per week for roughly 3-6 months. During this time we will continually update our objective assessments to determine the best course of care and monitor progress with you. Wellness care visit recommendations are typically once every 1-2 weeks.

Can I go to the chiropractor while pregnant?

Yes! Our chiropractors have advanced training in perinatal care. Research shows that women who receive chiropractic care throughout pregnancy have shorter labor times, experience less pain during labor, and express an overall better birthing experience. Chiropractic care during pregnancy helps balance the spine and pelvis, provides ease in the ligaments that support the uterus and allow more comfortable position for mom and baby, as well as increase the neurological function throughout many changes during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.

Why would you bring a baby or child to a chiropractor?

Check out our blog post here for more details. Some of the main reasons parents bring their children to the chiropractor include:

  • ADHD or ADD

  • allergies

  • anxiety

  • digestion, including constipation

  • ear infections

  • irregular head shape

  • nursing difficulties

  • reflux

  • sleep difficulties

  • torticollis or favoring head to one side

  • wellness care

  • and more!

Pediatric chiropractic care is very gentle and effective at bringing the body back into balance so that the nervous system (brain, spinal cord and network of nerves that travel to all tissues, organs and muscles) can function optimally.
